Why did you start your business? It has been a lifelong dream to own a "Dessert Shoppe" and I saw the need for specialty diet desserts.
Tell me about your business: When I opened my doors I wanted to serve the Dietary Community. I have been gluten-free for over nine years and there is not one place where you can get a gluten-free dessert that is not pre-packaged with a ton of preservatives. So, we are happy to provide gluten-free from scratch for the community.
We also provide sugar-free, dairy-free, vegan, and all the gluten and sugar from scratch, as well.
Our shop also serves over 80 flavors of Bubble Tea, about 30 flavors of sugar-free, and about 15 different flavors of Boba. We make Boba Tea, Boba Lemonade, Boba Iced Coffee, Sugar-Free Lemonade Boba, Sugar-Free Boba Tea. In addition, these can all be made into Slushes and milkshakes.
We also have a variety of coffee options such as Latte’ Macchiato, Cappuccinos, Cafe’ Creme, Affogato, Espresso, and straight coffee. We have herbal teas and hot cocoa, as well.
We offer "Cooking Experiences" of many different ethnic varieties, weekly, and we have Birthday Party packages for children and adults, as well.
Who are your customers? We have a wide variety of customers. They range in age from infant to 100+. We have customers from all over the world and all different walks of life.
What did you do differently during the pandemic that kept your business alive? During the height of Covid we were able to have take-out, so we were providing that service. We also sold a ton of birthday cakes but we limited the size of the cakes to smaller cakes to not encourage any gatherings. We also did a lot of individual cupcake and cookie packaging so people could have parties over Zoom with their friends
