June 1:

Elmira Pride, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 3 at Wisner Park in downtown Elmira. Sponsored by The Park Church and Southern Finger Lakes Pride.



Elmira Infinite Canvas - Mural Fest 2023, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 3 along Railroad Avenue in Elmira, NY. Multiple muralists will work on the Railroad Avenue Wall; also live music by Delta bluesman Gerard Burke, food by Los Panchos and Taste of Jamaica food trucks. Click here for more information.




Victorian Tea Fundraiser - Celebrating Women Through History, 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 3 at Heritage Village of the Southern Finger Lakes, 59 W. Pulteney St. in Corning. $45 tickets, available via links.


Celebrate, a drag show fundraiser for Rainbow of Hope Animal Rescue, Inc., 5:30 p.m. doors open, 7 p.m. show, Saturday, June 3 at Horseheads American Legion, 71 Old Ithaca Rd. Tickets: $20, call 607.331.8113.


Kaleidoscope, a Grand Soiree 2023 Gala Fundraiser, 7 p.m. Saturday, June 3 at 171 Cedar Arts Center in Corning. Evening of art, fun, food, dancing, a live auction and live music by the Silver Arrow Band. Tickets and information here.

Twin Tiers Martial Arts Championship, Saturday, June 10 at The "L" Event Center, 116 Breesport Rd. in Horseheads. Competitor registration available here; spectator tickets available here.


People for a Healthy Environment presents The Future Ain't What it Used to Be: Developing Resilience Through a Healthy Environment, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at The Park Church, 208 W. Gray St. in Elmira. Speakers will explore topics about perils of landfills, urban agriculture and much more. Free, lunch included but advance registration is required.


Southern Finger Lakes Pride Festival, noon-4 p.m. Saturday, June 10 in Centerway Square, downtown Corning. Live performances, queer artists, walking history tour, beer and wine tastings.


June 15:

This & That Pride Celebration hosted by Angela Cook and Dusty Boxx, 8-10 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at the Bundy Annex, 129 Main St. in Binghamton. $5 cover, all ages welcome.

Happy Hooping Class w/ Filomena Jack, 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, June 21 at Steele Memorial Library Teen Space in Elmira. Open to ages 12-18 in Chemung County.

June 22:

Fundraiser for Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA, 3-9 p.m. Thursday, June 22 at Carpe Diem Salon, 2-5 E. 14th St. in Elmira Heights. Free portraits from Filomena Jack Studio with pet food/toy/blanket donations.

July 6:

Basket weaving with artist Erica Unterwoman, 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Point of the Bluff Vineyards, 10489 CR 76 in Hammondsport, NY. Create your own basket using the vineyards grapevines while sipping on a complimentary glass of wine in a pavilion overlooking Keuka Lake. Farmer’s Market open until 7 p.m. Please bring garden gloves. Tickets: $44.52, available here.


July 7:

Fire Arts Show, on display through July 7 in The Evelyn Peeler Peacock Gallery at The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, 79 W. Market St., Corning. The juried exhibition features a variety of work across a diversity of mediums from regional ceramicists, flame workers, glassblowers, metalworkers, and more. Artists featured: Kim Binaghi Lee, Sara Hamburger, Jess Humphrey, Caitlin Hyde, Beth Hylen, Patricia Jackson, Beth Landin, Kyle Landin, Martha Manikas-Foster, Carol Nickol, Marissa Scott, Svetlana Short, Joann Smith, Terri Souder, Paul Spencer, Adyn Ulrich, Karen Vogler, Amanda Warren.


July 11:

Poets in Play featuring GS Murphy, 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, July 11 via Zoom and in person (location TBD). Prompt: “Searching for words in the chaos of the page”. Zoom links will be available on The ARTS Council’s Facebook page. Free and open to the public, attendees invited to an open mic forum after the reading to share their prompt-inspired work.

Aug. 19:
