Sept. 27:

Chemung County Family Fitness Center Pie-Throwing Fundraiser, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the Center, 1825 Pennsylvania Ave. in Elmira. For $5/throw you can pie local celebrities in the face to raise money for a great cause. Learn more via the link then help out this great community asset.
Imagine throwing a pie at this puss! For $5, you can do just that on Wednesday (9/27), and it's for a good cause!
Sept. 28:
Broome County Humane Society Open House, Supply Drive and Bake Sale, 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 at 167 Conklin Ave. in Binghamton. Live music and more. Free event but attendees are asked to bring a donation from the Humane Society's supply wish list, available via the link. Bring a lawn chair.
Sept. 29:
DEADLINE for Catholic Charities of Chemung & Schuyler Annual Fundraising Gala, to be held on Oct. 14 at the Elmira Country Club. Evening includes dinner, auction, dancing. Get tickets here.

Drag Story Hour with Miss Vanessa LaDiva, noon Saturday, Sept. 30 at Card Carrying Books & Gifts on Market Street in downtown Corning.

CLOSING Americans Who Tell the Truth: Portraits by Robert Shetterly, on display through Oct. 8 at The Rockwell Museum, in Corning. Exhibition portrays heroic individuals who've dedicated their lives to improving their local and national communities, fighting for social, racial, economic or environmental justice. The paintings are a form of narrative activism in which Robert Shetterly shares stories of people from America's past and present who are fighting for social, racial, economic and environmental justice.
