Southern Tier Literary Life: Upcoming Events

Poets in Play is a program held by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes in partnership with Foothills Publishing that invites locally and nationally known writers to read and share their work every other month.

There are two remaining sessions for the 2022 - 2023 season, featuring Kathabela Wilson and Aleathia Drehmer.

Each session is guided by a prompt inspired by the poet’s reading.

  • MARCH 14: Kath Abela Wilson, 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14 via Zoom only. Prompt: “Odyssey” “Driftwood” and “Mother”.

  • MAY 9: Aleathia Drehmer, 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9 via Zoom and in person (location TBD). Prompt: “I think of you anyway, how you never touch the ground”.

Most sessions are held on Zoom and in person. Zoom links will be available on The ARTS Council’s Facebook page.

This event is free and open to the public and attendees are invited to an open mic forum after the reading to share their prompt-inspired work. Visit link for poet bios and more information.

The program is funded in part by Poets & Writers.

Saturdays through March 25:

Ithaca Winter Market, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays through March 25 at Triphammer Marketplace, 2255 N. Triphammer Rd. in Ithaca. Visit website for details.
